History ntv7
ntv7 is a private television station that is highly regarded in Malaysia and was launched on April 7, 1998. The television station offers a variety of engaging programs in Malay, English, Mandarin, and Tamil.
ntv7 is owned by Natseven TV Sdn Bhd. One of the most popular television programs on ntv7 is ‘My News Network’. On October 28, 2005, ntv7 was acquired by Media Prima for RM 90 million.
According to a report by Berita Harian (March 31, 2006), based on AGB Nielsen statistics, ntv7 became the preferred channel for Chinese viewers with an audience of 145,000 during its launch. ntv7 captured 36% of Chinese viewers aged 25 and above.
ntv7 broadcasts various types of television programs, including dramas, comedies, entertainment shows, games, animations, and more. News is also broadcasted in three languages, namely Edisi 7, 7 Edition, and Mandarin 7.

On November 18, 2020, DidikTV@ntv7, an educational program block, was introduced by the Ministry of Education Malaysia from November 23, 2020, to January 16, 2021. Initially, the program was broadcasted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM every Monday to Friday. Later, it was divided into two time slots (9:00 AM-12:00 PM and 3:00 PM-5:00 PM) starting from January 27, 2021, to ensure educational programs are broadcasted daily.
On February 12, 2021, the Ministry of Education Malaysia announced that ntv7 would undergo a name change through a takeover and become a fully educational television station known as DidikTV KPM starting from February 17. This new television station will focus on educational content based on the SPM curriculum and the common curriculum. DidikTV KPM will also provide education-focused news, edutainment programs, and content produced by students. The station will operate for 17 hours every day from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
On February 16, 2021, Media Prima confirmed to The Edge Markets that ntv7 would not be discontinued, and the team will now focus on DidikTV KPM.
Since the introduction of DidikTV KPM, the main news program Edisi 7 has been completely discontinued and replaced by Buletin Didik, while 7 Edition has been moved to digital programming. Variety shows from South Korea, Running Man, and the CJ Wow Shop shopping block have been discontinued on this channel. Programs like “Soal Drama” have been moved to TV9, while Running Man has been moved to TV2 since February 21, 2021.
